3x3 Growth Food đ: On passion, prioritising and taking the first step towards your future.
Hi friends,
Hope you are all having a great weekend. Itâs a beautiful day here in Sydney.
Iâve been thinking about how can I connect with you on a more consistent basis through this medium every week. Since I have a love for reading, journaling and reflecting, some friends whoâve read my journal has encouraged me to share my weekly learnings and reflection there.
In my weekly 3x3 emails, Iâll be sharing:
3 truth I discovered
3 things Iâm grateful for
3 things I love/read
My goal is to deliver the most wisdom and gratitude per word of any newsletter on the web. I hope this brings you value :).
3 Truths I Discovered
Passion isnât enough. Be obsessed.
People say you have to be passionate about what you do, but I think you have to be obsessed. I think one of the most important things is what can you get obsessed with. And you're not going to really know until you start. For me, that is, get really frustrated about something, and want to solve it permanently.
- Drew Houston
You need to kill good ideas to make room for great ones.
If you want to do your most important work, you have to focus and prioritise ruthlessly.
You can have anything that you want, but you can't have everything that you want.
- Ray Dalio
That means trade-offs. I love what I do but there are a lot of things I don't love every moment. By choosing one thing, you are choosing no to a lot of other things. You have to realise that this is a choice you are making, not something that's happening to you. Because if you do, you start thinking of yourself as a victim. That is a recipe for burn out, resentment and all the bad stuff. I'm choosing to do this because look at the state of the world and what it's the future state could be! I actually need to go put a dent in that problem.
- Drew Houston
You choose the future with your actions each day.
Where would like to be in life 10 years from now if youâre not afraid? Are your actions today aligned with that future? Be intentional with your time, dream big, and make sure you start taking that first step today.
3 Things Iâm Grateful For
Iâm grateful I get to work with some really smart people in my work who challenges me, makes me smarter, gives me honest feedback and motivates me to work harder because I donât want to let them down.
I'm grateful that I get to eat salmon sushi while other people under quarantine can only eat cold hotel food.
I love my body and every cell within it. For all those living beings that are my cells, I am God. The cells in my body are completely loyal to me. They work for me in harmony. Even when my body can't do something because of its limitations, we push our body and our body at least tries. I am sorry; now I will take care of you and love you again. I am so grateful. I will always be loved.
3 Things I Loved This Week

Entrepreneurship is the pursuit of freedom. Don't go into it if you just want to pursue money. Making money was really binary, one second I had nothing, the next second I was rich beyond my wildest dream. You'll be working 25 hours a day. But you pick something you are passionate about, then it doesn't matter.
I hope youâve enjoyed that. Please reply to this email and let me know if you like it, or where I can improve. It helps me a great deal!
Until next week,
